Howard H. and Norma (Marlow) Evans of Claremore recently celebrated 50 years of marriage. The couple was married June 30, 1957, at University Heights Baptist Church in Oklahoma City.
Howard was born and raised in Oklahoma City. Norma was born in Atoka, and moved to Oakland, Calif. in 1941, and moved to Oklahoma City in 1948. Both attended the same church and graduated together from John Marshall High School. Howard attended Central State University in Edmond and Norma attended Hill Business University in Oklahoma City.
After they were married, Howard worked for Cities Service Gas Company in Oklahoma City. They moved to Claremore in 1984 after the company was purchased by The Williams Companies and transferred to Tulsa. Howard retired March 1, 1995, after 33 years of service. Norma previously worked as a secretary.
Howard and Norma’s children include: Mike and Cathy Evans of Edmond; Mitch Evans of Oklahoma City; and Jim and Sara Evans of Siloam Springs. Grandchildren are: Tyler Evans, Julie Evans, Blake Evans, Angela Evans, and Marlow Evans.
