Orcas Island the setting of Meeks, Williams vows

Deric Bryce Williams and Emily Anne Meeks exchanged vows in an intimate morning ceremony on Orcas Island in northern Washington State.

The village of East Sound was the setting of the May 19 wedding, which took place at 9 a.m. on sacred ground at Madrona Point, overlooking the water. Francis Racey of Deer Harbor, Washington officiated.

The bride is the daughter of William and Priscilla Meeks of Braggs. The groom is the son of Andy and Delanna Williams and grandson of Omer and Patricia (Santee) Williams all of Vinita. Brittney Bence of Claremore served as maid of honor, while Eric Hair of Bartlesville acted as best man. Also in attendance was the groom’s sister, Alyssa Williams of Vinita.

Escorted by her father, the bride walked down a wooded path that led to Madrona Point, while the groom’s father sang and played Somewhere Over the Rainbow on the ukulele. A brunch reception followed at the New Leaf Café, located in the Outlook Inn.

The bride is a 2006 graduate of Rogers State University and will be attending the University of Kansas Medical School in the fall of 2007.

The groom is a 2003 graduate of Chelsea High School and will be completing his bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2008.
