Roger, Loretta (Henson) Patton celebrate 50 years

Roger and Loretta (Henson) Patton of Claremore were married October 8, 1959 in Hampton, Iowa . The ceremony was officiated by Rev. John Walker. They met at Trinity Church of the Nazarene in Oklahoma City, while Roger was attending Bethany Nazarene College.

Roger was employed at Graham's Appliance and Furniture Store in Bethany, Oklahoma, until accepting a management position with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in Ponca City. In 1969 Roger was transferred to the Claremore store. October 1, 1977, he embarked on a new career when he became an agent for Farm Bureau Insurance Company, which has spanned 32 years.

After 20 years as a housewife and mother, Loretta returned to school, and in 1983 received a B.S. degree in education from Northeastern Oklahoma State University. She was employed by the City of Claremore as Children's Librarian at the Will Rogers Public Library, until her retirement. Currently she is serving as church librarian at the First United Methodist Church, Claremore.

They are parents to three children; daughter, Dawn and Danny Owens of Fishers Indiana; son, Dr. Tracy and Rachel Patton of Claremore, and daughter, Kammie and Dennis Bynum of Claremore. They have ten grandchildren, and three great grandchildren, with a fourth one due to arrive the day after their anniversary.

They will celebrate their anniversary with a come-and-go reception on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009 from 2 - 4 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 1615 N. Hwy. 88, Claremore, OK.
