Crews work to repair natural gas leak

CLAREMORE —

 

Crews are currently working on repairing a natural gas leak at the intersection of J.M. Davis Boulevard and Blue Starr Drive. 

Parts of the intersection and railroad crossing were closed from 11:45 a.m. until about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, while Oklahoma Natural Gas employees worked to shut off the leak. 

Claremore police and fire department officials were on hand to redirect motorists while blocking access across the tracks. 

The cause of the gas leak is unknown at this time, however, the area is safe, according to information provided by ONG.

  • Claremore-Collinsville basketball games cancelled

    The Claremore-Collinsville varsity and junior varsity basketball games for tonight have been cancelled, according to Claremore athletic director Brent Payne.

    The Metro Lakes Conference showdown between the two rival schools will be resume at a time and date to be determined in Collinsville.

    Claremore will return to Metro Lakes Conference play on Friday during Homecoming against Skiatook. The Zebras will play at 6 p.m., followed by the Lady Zebras at 7:30 p.m.

  • Verdigris-Claremore Sequoyah basketball games moved to 5 p.m.

    The Verdigris-Claremore Sequoyah varsity basketball games will still take place tonight in Verdigris.

    The Lady Cardinals will battle the Lady Eagles at 5 p.m., followed by the Cardinals and Eagles at 6:45 p.m.

    There will be no JV games, according to the Verdigris Lady Cardinals Basketball Facebook Page.
