A Texas woman and her teenage daughter died early Saturday morning in a double fatality accident on the Will Rogers Turnpike in Rogers County.
According to the report of OHP Trooper Fred Levy, shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday, June 22, Cathryn Storey of Ketchem was eastbound on I44 Will Rogers Turnpike near MM258, three miles east of Claremore in Rogers County.
Storey, 46, was driving a 2012 Chrysler and with her was passenger, Erika Kunkel, 21, of Norman.
Also eastbound on the same length of turnpike at that time was a 1994 Chevrolet Suburban, driven by Rodolfo Maganas, 44, of Elsa, Texas.
Traveling with Maganas were his wife, Tammy Maganas, 42, also of Elsa, Texas, Salvador Flores Jr., 42, Beatric Trevino, 44, and her daughter, Konnie Flores, 16, all of Edcouch, Texas.
For reasons unknown, the Chrysler struck the Chevy Suburban on the driver’s rear side, causing it to depart the roadway to the right, then return to the roadway and start to roll for an undermined among of time, reports indicate. The Suburban then struck a guard rail and came to a rest on its wheels.
After striking the Suburban, the Chrysler departed the roadway to the right and struck a guardrail before coming to a rest, according to reports.
Rodolfo Maganas was transported by Pafford Ambulance to St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa, where he was admitted in good condition with head, trunk internal, trunk external and leg injuries.
Tammy Maganas also was transported to St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa by way of Pafford EMS, where she was treated and released with head, trunk internal, and leg injuries.
Salvador Flores Jr. was transported by Pafford Ambulance to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa, where he was admitted in good condition with head, trunk internal, and trunk external injuries.
Trevino expired at the scene from head, trunk internal, trunk internal, arm and leg injuries, reports indicate.
Konnie Flores also expired at the scene from head, trunk internal, trunk external, arm and leg injuries, having been ejected approximately 46 feet from the driver’s side rear door, reports indicate.
Trevino and Konnie Flores were both transported from the scene by Ray Francisco Embalming Service of Tulsa.
Storey and Kunkel were not injured.
