Weather prompts Dickens event change

The weather will be playing Scrooge for the Dickens on the Boulevard on Friday night.
Cindy Bissett with Claremore Main Street said the event will still go on but will be pared down a little.
“Stores will still be open for your shopping convenience. The window sitters, or living windows, will still be sitting. The territorial marshals will be on hand for visits and a game of cards, and area authors will be in Boarding House Book Store,” Bissett said. “The blacksmiths will be doing their thing. Tales from the Top will start at 6:10, as scheduled.”
In addition, the Belvidere Mansion and Claremore Museum of History will be open, and the Victorian costume contest will still take place, with judging from 6-8 inside Thrift Harbor.
“We will not be blocking the streets, doing stage entertainment, the territorial marshal reenactment, or the Victorian dance, however,” Bissett said.
All activities for Saturday’s Dickens on the Boulevard will proceed as planned.  Call (918) 341-5881 or email for more information.
