CLAREMORE —

Claremore Chamber of Commerce members hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday afternoon at Fried Pie of Claremore, 500 N. J.M. Davis Blvd.
Present for the ceremony were owners Carl Statton and Sandy Kibby. The two provided Chamber members and attendees with free pies and a drawing for a chance to win two Scentsy gift baskets.
For the grand opening, customers received a free appetizer with the purchase of a lunch or dinner meal.
Stratton and Kibby opened Fried Pie of Claremore in April. Stratton said the product used to make the pies is leased to FPC out of Davis, Okla. by Fried Pie Shop Founder Nancy Fulton.
Fulton said she has 23 locations in Texas, Arkansas and Oklahoma where she sends product, but tells everybody “Fried Pie of Claremore runs the best business.”
“(Sandy) takes it seriously. She provides the best quality and service than any pie shop,” said Fulton. She’s the newest, but she’s the best.”
In addition to the original Arbuckle Mountain fried dessert and meat pies, Fried Pie of Claremore offers a lunch and dinner menu.
“We wanted to open a restaurant with food you can’t find anywhere else in Claremore,” said Stratton.
He said the business has been open for about four months, but he wanted to make sure he was “doing things right” before presenting the grand opening to the public.
