Local production company brings horror film to Claremore

CLAREMORE —

Independent film production company Miracle Pictures and Director Michael Cunningham bring their second short film “The Hunted” to Claremore, with filming to begin in early June. “The Hunted” was written in collaboration with writer Ryan A. Brandt of Broken Arrow.
Miracle Pictures was founded by Cunningham in 2007 while attending Rogers State University. The film will mark the second short film from Miracle Pictures, who released their first award-winning short film “Instant Message” in 2011.
“The Hunted” is inspired by true events that focus on a serial killer who takes hunting wildlife to the next level.
“Our main goal is to be funded by investors,” said Cunningham. “I like to be able to pay our actors and actresses something for their work as well as provide meals or a place to stay if need be. These additional costs can make or break a film.”
He said there are still vital roles to be filled, including on screen and production positions.
Currently in preproduction, “The Hunted” will be shot on locally-owned acreage near Claremore. The completed film will be entered in fim festivals worldwide as well as released for online streaming and distribution.
“There is no limit to the amount of exposure Claremore could receive,” said Cunningham. “We hope to put Claremore and Oklahoma on the map in the film industry.”
Cunningham and Miracle Pictures are now seeking investors, both public and private to be a part of the excitement.
