Claremore business owner Mary Klassen dies

CLAREMORE —

Longtime Claremore resident and local business owner Mary Klassen has died following a bout with a rare disease, according to family members.
Klassen died on Friday, after being in declining health for the past few months.
She moved to the Claremore area from Wisconsin in 1979. 
Her first job locally was at the Claremore Daily Progress under then-publisher Don Dodd.
She moved into printing, working briefly at Kwik Copy and later purchasing The Print Shop on J.M. Davis Boulevard in 1983, which she owned and managed for the past 30 years.
Klassen was active with Tri-County CASA, where she served as president and a member of the board of directors.
She was a member of the Claremore Chamber of Commerce, the Reveille Rotary and the Claremore Elks Lodge.
Services for Klassen will be at 10  a.m. on Tuesday at First United Methodist Church, where she was a member.
Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, under the direction of Rice Funeral Service.  
Friends may visit at the funeral home from 1 to 7 p.m. on Monday. Family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 p.m.
