Keller Williams gives back on Red Day

Local Keller Williams associates took the day off on  Thursday to serve and give where they live.
Associates with the Tulsa and surrounding area chose to “Give Where They Live” as part of RED Day, the company’s annual day of service, dedicated to Renewing, Energizing, and Donating to their local communities. 
As part of the RED Day effort, Keller Williams Market Centers chose to spend the day feeding the Tulsa Area by joining forces for the Food for Families’ “Knock-out Hunger” initiative with the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma plus donating   blood to support the Oklahoma Blood Institute. First thing in the morning, associates went door-to-door   nd picked up bags of food and then they gathered at the Guthrie Green to celebrate   the spirit of giving and many not only gave food but blood.
They collected over 10,000 pounds of food to benefit local area families. Keller Williams Real Estate offices are continuing to accept food donations.
Short for “Renew, Energize and Donate,” RED Day was created to unite Keller Williams Realty offices and associates in an international day of service. This day of community service was created to unite  Keller Williams Realty offices and associates in an international day of giving back to the communities where associates live and work.
“RED Day is built on the belief that people can and should come together to achieve extraordinary things to help others,” said Sherry Lewis, Operating Partner.  “Last year, we painted the  rec center and worked on playground sets at the Riverview Park Apartments; worked on play sets and painting at the Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club, Eugene Fields Schools in West Tulsa; and painted amd landscaped at the Honor Cottages at Skiatook Lake . We can’t tell you what an impact it made on each of us personally. We all know that filling all the gaps in our communities can’t be accomplished by serving just once a year. RED Day just happens to be the one-day expression of the constant state of the Keller Williams culture. We see a need, discover who can meet it and get it done.” 
Since the first RED Day in 2009, Keller Williams associates have given almost a half million hours of  community service through activities ranging from food and blood drives to cleaning up trash in public parks, revamping gardens at nursing homes and rebuilding homes and schools for community members in need. To this day, it is one of the largest events in the real estate industry.
