Pixley Lumber Company celebrates 50 years today

CLAREMORE —

Pixley Lumber Company celebrates its 50th year in business from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.
Company officials want to show their appreciation for their customers. Pixley’s is located at  715 W. Will Rogers Blvd.
A day of events and activities have been slated beginning with the unveiling of Pixley’s Original Delivery Truck at 8 a.m.
There will be a commemorative ribbon cutting with the Claremore Chamber of Commerce at 8:30 a.m. Claremore Mayor  Mickey Perry will declare Oct. 1, 2013 as Pixley Lumber Company Day in the city.
From 9 to 11 a.m. Claremore’s Andy Hogan will present Will Rogers.
The Rogers County Sheriff’s Department will provide fingerprinting from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for children.
The J. M. Davis Arms & Historical Museum will hold a BB Gun shoot from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
BNSF will present “Operation Lifesaver” from 8  a.m. to 5 pm. with locomotive display and materials to give out on their program. 
Pafford Ambulance Service’s Community Outreach and Will Rogers Park project volunteers will give updates from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. 
There will be chainsar carving by  Tom Zimmer from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 
Magician Dr. Darryl Reed will peform and Zeynep Durmaz of Sunshine Face Painting will do face painting from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Cedar Creek Cookout including hamburgers, hot dogs, and all the   trimmings along with a commemorative Pixley bottled water will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. 
Claremore police Officers will share their law-enforcement  education center from noon to 5 p.m.
The Claremore Fire Department fire truck will be at the event from 2 to 4 p.m. and firefighters will share information about  extinguishers and smoke alarms.
Clown Morriey will provide fun for kids of all ages from 2 to 4 p.m.
