ENID, Okla. —
Enid police arrested an 18-year-old Enid woman in connection with the death of an Enid man, when she is alleged to have backed over him on a residential driveway late Friday night.
According to an EPD press release, the Enid Garfield County 911 Center received a medical emergency call to respond to 222 W. Wabash at 10:49 p.m. Friday. EPD officers, Life EMS and Enid Fire Department units responded and found a male lying in the driveway of the residence unconscious, with injuries to his head and torso.
Medics attempted to revive the man, identified as Orlando Rutledge, 44, but he died at the scene, according to the EPD release.
Police said a preliminary investigation determined Ruthledge had been in an argument with his girlfriend, identified as Jonna M. Jordan. As Jordan was leaving the Wabash residence in a pickup parked in the driveway, the report stated she is alleged to have backed up in a rapid manner and run over the victim, causing major head and torso injuries.
Police arrested Jordan at the scene and booked her into the Garfield County Detention Center on preliminary charges of vehicular manslaughter and assault and battery on a police officer with bodily fluids.
The EPD press released stated that Rutledge was transported to the state Medical Examiner’s Office in Oklahoma City for autopsy, and that the incident still is under investigation.
