US Senator’s son remembered as dedicated pilot

OKLAHOMA CITY — As investigators search for the cause of a plane crash that killed the son of U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe, the orthopedic surgeon is being remembered as a skilled surgeon who loved to fly.

The state medical examiner’s office confirmed Tuesday that 52-year-old Perry Dyson Inhofe II died Sunday when the plane he was flying crashed just north of Tulsa International Airport.

Perry Inhofe was a surgeon at Central States Orthopedics in Tulsa and was one of four children of Sen. Inhofe.

Clinic CEO David Long, says Perry Inhofe was a dedicated pilot who had logged more than 3,000 hours of flight time.

Federal Aviation Administration records show a company owned by Perry Inhofe recently bought the 1974 Mitsubishi MU-2B aircraft that he was flying when he crashed.
