ENID, Okla. —
Investigators with Enid Police Department arrested a 48-year-old Enid man Wednesday on complaints of lewd molestation and forcible sodomy.
EPD received a report from Pratt Police Department in Kansas alleging Patrick Leon Watts sexually assaulted a juvenile a couple of years ago while the juvenile was briefly staying in Enid.
Watts is being held at Garfield County Detention Facility.
Enid Police Department said it had no comment concerning Watts’ employment.
Amber Graham Fitzgerald, Enid Public Schools director of human resources and communications, said Watts was employed as a bus driver and was involved with the football and wrestling programs.
“Nothing is more important than the safety of our students, and the district does everything possible to ensure their safety,” Amber Graham Fitzgerald said. “Today (Wednesday) we were notified by the Enid Police Department that a bus driver had been arrested on allegations of inappropriate interaction with a minor from another state.
“We are investigating the situation, and the employee is no longer performing his duties with the district.”
Fitzgerald said Watts had volunteered with the football program and served as an adjunct assistant coach for wrestling.
