Tad Jones: A honor serving Rogers County

CLAREMORE — It has been a tremendous honor for me to serve House District 9 in the

Oklahoma House of Representatives over the past 12 years. I have enjoyed serving the area and I have had such a wonderful experience meeting so many great people and working on issues that affect Rogers County.

I am glad to have had the chance to see Rogers State University grow, road improvements throughout the county and improvements to our museums.

During my tenure we were able to lower taxes, pass significant pro-life legislation, education reforms and worker's comp reform.

I want to thank everyone in Rogers County for your trust and the opportunity to serve in the American institution of representative government. I served with so many excellent people and public service will always be one of the greatest honors of my life. It has been a pleasure to get to serve with Stratton Taylor and Sean Burrage and I appreciate their work for Rogers County.

I am excited for Marty Quinn and his desire to serve in the public arena. I believe he will do a great job and he will work hard for Oklahoma and House District 9. I wish him all the best.

I have learned so much about our state and all the great things Oklahoma has to offer. We truly live in one of the greatest states because our people are so willing to help others and to work to make our communities better places to live and work. Thank you again for the opportunity and for the trust you placed in me over the last 12 years. God Bless.

Tad Jones has served as state representative for district 9.

  • Debra Carpenter MOTHER INTERRUPTED: Mom’s frantic Easter Egg hunt

Normally, I like to think I’m pretty organized. I know where everything in the house is whether it belongs to me or not, which is a good thing when my husband can’t find his favorite t-shirt (It’s folded up on top of the dresser) or when my daughter is having a meltdown because her Lalaloopsy doll is apparently “gone forever” (It’s on her bed). But in life, and in organization, you win some and you lose some. This is the story of me “losing some”-okay, a lot.

  • Smooth or Chunky?

When it comes to preparing a meal cooks are called on to make multiple decisions.  Even after deciding what items will be on the upcoming menu, more choices must be made.
For example will it be fried or scrambled eggs for breakfast?  At lunch time will it be chili with or without beans?  Which will go better with the dinner steak, French fries or baked potato?

For many Oklahomans the cost of gasoline makes up a large part of their monthly budget. When gas prices go up, it often means families must rearrange their priorities so that they can simply fill their cars with fuel.
