Gragerts named chairs for Symphony League Ball

CLAREMORE —

The Symphony League Ball is scheduled for March 8 at the Rogers State University Centennial Center. Honorary Chairpersons for this year’s event are Steve and Helen Gragert.
The Gragerts are both active in Rotary and have represented presidents of Rotary International at district conferences and trained Rotary leaders and partners from around the world. Steve is a past district governor of Rotary and currently president of the Reveille Rotary Club of Claremore.
Steve has been honored with the Rotary Foundation District Service Award and the Rotary Foundation Certificate of Meritorious Service. He and Helen are also Major Donors of the Rotary Foundation.
Steve is director of the Will Rogers Memorial Museum and editor/co-editor of 17 volumes of the writings and papers of Will Rogers. Helen is an artist expressing herself in the flowing of color and shape in the medium of glass, exhibiting her art throughout the region.
The Symphony League Ball is held every spring at RSU’s Centennial Center. In addition to professional musical performances, the RSU Jazz Band provides dance music for guests.
Corporate sponsorship of tables at the ball provides much of the operating funds for the Claremore Symphony League. An annual patronage appeal is also included in which individuals and families contribute funds to further the goals of the organization.
The Symphony League is a charitable organization dedicated to the musical arts in Rogers County and surrounding areas. The league is focused on musical performance and education in the region.
In the past, the league has sponsored concerts from the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra, the Tulsa Opera Company and the Tulsa Honors Symphony, all performed at the Robson Performing Arts Center. The Symphony League has also sponsored Tulsa Symphony Brass and String Quartet concerts at the Will Rogers Auditorium.
Master classes are a new direction for the mission of the Claremore Symphony League, supporting musical development in area public schools.
