Literacy Council schedules tutor training

CLAREMORE — Rogers County Literacy Council (RCLC) offers a unique opportunity for volunteers to make a difference by helping people learn how to read or how to speak English.

The non-profit RCLC offers free tutoring in basic English, English as a Second Language, preparation for citizenship and GED testing to those 16 and older.
RCLC has scheduled a training session for Saturday, Aug. 25 at Will Rogers Library from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for those interested in becoming a literacy tutor.

Prospective tutors must be at least 18 years of age and able to meet with a student at least one hour once or twice a week. 
The literacy council’s main office is located in the Will Rogers Library and is open on Tuesday and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. We also have locations in Chelsea and Catoosa.
