The dog days of summer return to Claremore this month with the 2013 Claremore Dog Expo.
“This will be our fourth year to host the (Claremore) Dog Expo, and every year, it just gets better and better,” said Jean Hurst, Claremore Animal Control supervisor. “We’ve confident that this year will be our best yet.”
Several crowd-favorite events, such as the Dog Dogs, herding demonstrations, agility demonstrations, and others will be returning this year, as well as some new features and maybe a surprise or two, Hurst said.
“We’ll have several vendors there again this year as well as trainers, groomers, veterinarians, and booths with merchandise of interest to dog or pet-owners,” she said. “We’re expecting some rescue groups, there will be concessions, pet trick demonstrations, and more — really, something for the entire family.”
Claremore Dog Expo 2013 is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 24 and Aug. 25. Cost to attend is $3 per person, and attendees may bring their dogs, provided they are well-socialized and current on their rabies vaccinations.
