Flippo crowned Miss Sooner Outstanding Teen

CLAREMORE — Nicole Flippo, a student at Cascia Hall High School,  was crowned Miss Sooner State’s Outstanding Teen 2012 on January 21 in Claremore.

The pageant was held at the Robson Performing Arts Center.

Flippo, a 16-year-old sophomore from Claremore,  won the title in a competition featuring 11 young women. She advances to compete for the title of Miss Oklahoma’s Outstanding Teen 2012.

That competition will be held in June on the campus of Oral Roberts University in Tulsa. Ticket information is available by contacting the Miss Oklahoma Scholarship Pageant at Missoklahoma.org

The young women competed in a personal interview competition, along with active wear, on-stage question, talent, and evening gown.  Nicole, a vocalist, performed the song  “Time to say Goodbye”, from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Phantom of the Opera” for her talent selection. She will be working as a literacy advcate during her year. Her community service platform  is “Reading with Africa.” She will begin her work by visiting Africa during her spring break, where she and her family will be delivering thousands of books to a local school. She is the daughter of John and Sandy Flippo of Claremore.
