Claremore tech students win at national conference


Seventeen Claremore students attended the recent national Technology Student Association in Orlando, Fla.
Clarremore students competed in 17 different events. Fifteen of the 17 students made it to the finals with Claremore TSA making the top 10 in four events.
Middle  and high school technology students, guided by their chapter advisors, competed with their peers in STEM events such as Agriculture and Biotechnology, CAD, Chapter Team, Video Game Design, Dragster Design, Engineering Design, Flight Endurance, Techno Talk, Problem Solving and Structural Engineering.
Trey Thomas and Kacee Rumsey won first in the nation in Techno Talk, while Cody Classen and Ashley Isenbart won third in the nation in Technology Problem Solving.
Randi Mantooth placed fifth in the nation in Dragster Design. Kelsey Bart, Riker Olari, Kacee Rumsey, Kenzie Rumsey, Alexyss Rains and Trey Thomas placed seventh in Chapter Team (parlimamentary procedures).
Claremore High School’s Chapter Team including Allie Russo, Felicity Owens, John Dexter, Ashley Isenbart, Emily Holmes and Ryan Asauskas, while not making the top 10 after the made the finals received on of the best compliments of any team Clremore has ever taken.
The coordinator of the Chapter Team event came to their advisor and told him though they went over time it was one of the best teams he had ever seen.
Claremore also contributed to the national conference with three of the eight Oklahoma state officer team members being from Claremore.
Kelsey Bart, Felicity Owens and Ashley Isenbart were all on the state officer team.
Afte the conference, the Claremore team celebrated by going to Universal Studios for two days before returning home.
