CLAREMORE — Country Fare Quilter’s Guild and the Belvidere Mansion are teaming up to host a beautiful display of antique, traditional, and contemporary handmade quilts in celebration of National Quilting Month in March.

“It is our pleasure to share these beautiful works of art with the community,” said Carol Thurman.

To share their love of quilting, the local quilt guild members invite the public to view their quilts free of charge between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. until March 27, at the historic Belvidere Mansion, Fourth and Chickasaw.

The National Quilting Association designates the third Saturday of each March as National Quilting Day to recognize the special talents of quilters and to honor the rich tradition of quilt making throughout history.

This year the Country Fare Quilter’s Guild of Claremore is extending the show to celebrate the entire month.

The guild is dedicated to the art of quilting and encourages everyone with an appreciation for quilts to visit this year’s quilt exhibit.

“Our fundraising quilt is on display and will be given away at the annual quilt show on Oct. 18,” Thurman said.
