The Rogers County United Way raised approximately $7,100 during the organization’s 18th Annual Chocolate Affair Thursday night at the Claremore Community Center.
Seven local food vendors provided desserts for the nearly 300 in attendance. Attendees mingled while bidding on gift baskets during a silent auction before a live auction was held to cap off the evening.
All 26 agencies supported by the Rogers County United Way provided at least two gift baskets for bidding in the silent auction, said Assistant Director of Claremore Senior Citizens Center and co-chair Susan Smith.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit the RCUW-supported agencies, serving local residents.
Food vendors were Fried Pies of Claremore, Mattie’s 66 Steakhouse, Studio Coffee Co., J &J Pharmacy, Claremore Senior Citizens Center, Peachtree Catering Company and Ol’ Dutchman’s Bakery.
Auctioneer for the evening was Northeastern Technology Center Claremore Campus Director Rick Reimer.
The Rogers County United Way’s next fundraising event will be the annual Holiday Boutique scheduled for Nov. 14-16 at RSU’s Centennial Center.
