RSU Scholarship Auction & Dinner features Mustang raffle

CLAREMORE —

The Rogers State University Foundation will host their annual Scholarship Auction & Dinner at 6 p.m. May 15 on the lawn of the RSU Claremore campus.
This year’s fundraiser titled “Saddle Up For Scholarships,” will offer attendees a chance to win a 2014 Ford Mustang.
A total of 500 raffle tickets will be sold for a chance at winning the vehicle. Tickets are on sale for $100 each.
The winning ticket will be drawn during the scholarship auction, and the ticket holder does not need to be present to win.
Proceeds from the raffle will be used to fund RSU scholarships for students at the Bartlesville, Claremore and Pryor campuses.
Tickets may be purchased at the RSU Office of Development, located on the Claremore campus, or from any RSU Foundation board member or auction committee member.
The western-themed event will feature live and silent auctions, a Billy Sim’s BBQ dinner and musical entertainment from Camille and Haley Harris.
Scholarship auction committee members are expecting between 350 and 400 people to attend.
“We anticipate exceeding $100,000 in net proceeds this year,” said Tonni Harrald of the RSU Office of Development.
Harrald said thanks to community support, the RSU Foundation is able to provide unrestricted funds each year, allowing many students to receive scholarships.
Throughout the past 10 years, the auction has helped raise nearly $500,000 for scholarships that would not be possible without continued support from area businesses, industries and individual sponsors.
Sponsorships secured to date include: Heritage Sponsors Jack and Bobbye Mooney, Pelco Structural, LLC; Distinguished Sponsors RCB Bank, Williams Construction, Key Construction, Friends of RSU, Hillcat Sponsor Jack Kissee Ford and Table Sponsors Musselman Abstract Company, Baker Hughes, Carlene Webber, RSU Athletics, Chris Lyons Law Firm & Nash and Dana Lamb, Inola Storage, LLC; RCB Bank, Jack and Mary Lee Spinks, Hillcrest Hospital Claremore, AXH air coolers, Community Home Health, Suburban Chevrolet, Goodies Deli and Rains and Gore Dental Group, P.C.; Terra Nitrogen, Summit Physical Therapy, BancFirst, The Trust Company of Oklahoma.
Costs for the “Saddle Up For Scholarships” auction and dinner are $50 per person, and $500 will reserve a table for eight.
To purchase a Mustang raffle ticket or to make reservations for the auction, contact Tonni Harrald at (918) 343-7767 or email tharrald@rsu.edu.
Deadline for reservations is May 13.
Sponsorship opportunities will be available until May 7.
