Colorful Run

Claremont Crayon Run a success

CLAREMORE —

More than 500 runners of all ages participated in the inaugural Claremont Crayon Run Saturday at Claremore Lake Park.
Throughout the 5K race, participants were showered with dyed corn starch, turning white shirts into an explosion of color.
Claremont Elementary Principal Brian Young said as of Friday, more than $10,000 had been raised from registration fees. The total after Saturday was not available by presstime.
The event was organized by Claremont teachers and faculty members. Proceeds will benefit students in the classroom.
The event also included a one-mile fun run. Both runs started and finished on Lakewood Trail near the Blue Starr entrance to Claremore Lake.
