Wild Heart Ranch seeks donations to fund 40-acre expansion

Wild Heart Ranch’s Wildlife Rescue group is raising $80,000 for a 40-acre expansion of their non-profit facility.
So far, the animal rehabilitation site has raised $60,000. An additional $20,000 is needed before deadline on Jan. 31.
Wild Heart Ranch’s one-acre property is currently the only rescue center for injured wild animals in Rogers County.
“There’s just not much room,” said Ann Thompson, volunteer. “Right now we have limited space for the amount of wild animals we bring in year round.”
The expansion will be used to build a shelter across the street to care for dogs, cats and seized horses, according to Director Annette Tucker.
Rogers County deputies often call Tucker when they come across domestic animals. With the amount of abandoned dogs and cats in the area, it can be challenging to find room.
Thompson said the landowners have been very cooperative, even lowering the price some, but more donations are still needed.
Donations can be made in person or online through PayPal at
Rescue group volunteers will be raffling off two Caribbean cruise tickets for $20 per chance. The drawing will be held during the closing day of purchase or Jan. 31, whichever comes first.
Raffle tickets purchases can also be made through PayPal or send checks to Wild Heart Ranch 10491 South 4190 Road, Claremore, OK 74017. Include “cruise” on check.
