LOCAL TALENT: Bethany Grace and Gypsy Soul to perform on Saturday

CLAREMORE — Claremore resident Bethany Grace McDermed and her band “Bethany Grace and Gypsy Soul” will be among the bands performing Saturday at the Bluegrass & Chili Festival.

“Bethany Grace and Gypsy Soul” is a Claremore-based original soft/moderate rock, blues-rock group. Front lady/singer/songwriter, Bethany Grace McDermed, is a 2009 Sequoyah graduate and currently a Marketing student at Rogers State University.
McDermed has written and sung at area events since a very young age. Gypsy Soul provides the backbone to the music with Ryan Henigman (a band director for Pryor public schools), Tip Votaw on bass and Ken McDermed on percussion.
Each member has many years of musical experience in the area, playing in various bands and studios.
Bethany Grace and Gypsy Soul puts on a great show with original soft/moderate rock, blues-rock music (and a few rock covers) that most everyone knows.
McDermed has performed at many area venues/events such as Jenks Riverwalk Amphitheater, Jenks Los Cabos, Broken Arrow Los Cabos, Waterfront Grille, Broken Arrow Rooster Days, 2011 Bluegrass & Chili Fest (as the “IDK Band”), many other area clubs/restaurants and is occasionally hired for studio vocal work.
“Bethany Grace and Gypsy Soul” will be playing the Bluegrass & Chili Festival at 6:30 p.m. Saturday and they are booked to play the Rogers County Fair main stage at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 15.
