Getting to know the Claremore City Council candidates: Justin Michael

Running for City Council Ward 2, Claremore native Justin Michael whose father, Greg, owned Classic Photo for nearly 20 years, has a deep love of hometown. Attending nearly every city council meeting for the past year - Justin is dedicated to being a voice for his ward.

Becoming acutely aware of the inner workings of city government, Claremore is more than just where he lives, it has become his life and passion. Opening The Haberdashery men’s store and purchasing the old Twin Oaks Hotel with his wife Audrey, he hopes to create positive changes, continue the recent progress and take part in decision making for his hometown. He brings a love of history and an eye for the future in his bid for Ward 2. Being active in his community is important to the candidate who has been volunteering his time to be part of the Claremore Collective young professionals, Leadership Rogers County and a mentor of Volunteers for Youth.

Justin graduated from Claremore High School in 1998, before going on to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Career and Tech Education from Oklahoma State University. He holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Southern Nazarene and is currently attending Rogers State University where he will obtain a second Master’s Degree in Business Administration.

Active within his church at Cedar Point, Justin rarely meets a stranger, rarely has a short conversation and is always willing to listen with both ears to the people of Claremore.
