Jan Elizabeth Keaton and William Bruce Janson, both of Oxford, Pa., were united in marriage at 11 a.m. June 3, 2006 at The Centre Bridge Inn, a 300-year-old inn located along the Delaware River in New Hope, Pa. Rev. Russell Atkinson of Swarthmore United Methodist Church in Swarthmore, Pa., officiated the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Norma Jean Keaton and the late Elvas Keaton of Claremore. She is the granddaughter of the late James Lloyd and Ola Rainsberg Durbin of New Philadelphia, Ohio, and the late Ernest and Goldie Shaw Keaton of New Holland, Ohio.

Jan is a 1982 graduate of Claremore High School and a 1986 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s in Business Administration in marketing. In 1999 she graduated from The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College, Philadelphia, with an associate’s in Culinary Arts. She is employed by Chattem, Inc. as a national account manager.

The groom is the son of Janice and Philip Janson of Doylestown, Pa. He is the grandson of the late William Kogen and Sophia Kogen Wanicur, and the late Jules and Mary Janson, all of Philadelphia.

William is a 1987 graduate of Lower Moreland High School, Huntingdon Valley, Pa. and a 1991 graduate of the University of Arizona at Tucson with a bachelor’s degrees in Accounting and Management Information Systems. He is a 2006 graduate of Cecil Community College, Northeast, Md., with an associate’s in Nursing. He is employed by Crozier-Chester Medical Center as a Registered Nurse.

The ceremony was a blend of Christian and Jewish elements celebrating both families.

The bride was escorted down the aisle by her brother, Jack Keaton.

She wore a high halter, sheath style ivory gown of bridal satin with lace and pearl beaded overlay. A train of ivory silk organza attached to the neckline and trailed five feet behind the dress. She carried a large Cabochon style bouquet of pale pink heritage roses.

Matron of honor was Jill Zimmer, sister of the bride. Raven Zimmer, niece of the bride, gave the scripture reading.

Howard Janson, brother of the groom, served as Best Man.

Guestbook attendant was Addison Zimmer, niece of the bride.

Ceremony procession music was provided by the groom’s aunt and uncle, Barbara Cohen on flute and Dr. Michael Janson on recorder.

Guests were treated to a mule driven barge ride on the canal next to the Delaware River prior to the luncheon reception. The afternoon concluded with a release of Monarch butterflies.

The couple will reside in Oxford, Pa., where they met as neighbors.
