CLAREMORE —

The Rogers County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Unit successfully shut down a Verdigris drug dealer Tuesday.
CIU officer seized more than a half pound of marijuana during the search of a residence located at 8993 E. 510 Road.
William Petty III was arrested and booked in the Rogers County Jail on multiple charges including distribution of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of paraphernalia and carrying a firearm after conviction.
CIU made contact with Petty after reports he was selling marijuana, according to Public Information Officer Jerry Smittle.
Petty had been using a police scanner programmed with the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office radio frequency, Smittle said.
During the search of Petty’s residence, CIU officers found a black box in the attic that contained marijuana, plastic baggies, scales and cash.
More than eight long guns and several rounds of ammo were seized from the home.
Multiple smoking devices, including a black gas mask with a bong attached were also recovered.
Petty was released on $22,000 bond Wednesday and is to appear in Rogers County court on June 11.
