CLAREMORE — The Rogers County Sheriff’s Office is looking for an arsonist today after a number of small fires were set on Wednesday.

The department reports a male, driving a 1995/1996 White Lincoln Continental was spotted near Chelsea at approximately 2 p.m. Wednesday starting fires.
Six different fires were reported in connection with the suspect, according to Deputy Jerry Smittle.
The Chelsea, Foyil, Alluwee and Nowata fire departments responded to the arson calls.
“Everybody needs to be alert and look around at their surroundings if you see something suspicious contact the authorities,” Emergency Management Director Bob Anderson said. With the fires in the area that have recently occurred it is important for people to have an exit plan.
“Know both primary and secondary exits from your home,” Anderson said.
Anyone that has information in connection with the fires is asked to contact the Sheriff at (918) 341-3535.
Citizens may call the Sheriff’s Tipline at (918) 341-3620 if they wish to remain anonymous, according to Smittle.
