CLAREMORE —

Two suspects were arrested for burglary complaints after a six-hour-long standoff Saturday on North Faulkner Drive in Claremore.

Claremore Patrol Officer Guy Singer said he was on patrol around 10 a.m. when he spotted activity in the home. He said the owner of the house is currently in Rogers County Jail for unrelated charges.

The suspects, Candace Renee Marshall, 24, of Claremore and Mathew Lee Smalley, 29, of Claremore, refused to exit the home upon notice of Singer.

Tulsa Police Department tactical units were called to assist Claremore police officers in the removal of the suspects, who were determined to be armed. Marshall voluntarily exited the home before Smalley, who came out of the residence around 4 p.m. after a total of 18 shots of tear gas were fired into areas of the home.

Both were arrested on complaints of burglary and booked at the Rogers County Jail.

No injuries were reported.

Marshall was arrested for second degree burglary, possession of controlled substance and two municipal charges out of Claremore. Smalley was arrested for second degree burglary, two municipal charges out of Claremore and a previous warrant.
