Foot pursuit ends in arrest

A foot pursuit took place around 3:45 p.m. Monday after Rogers County Deputy Marshal Cooper initiated a stop on a swerving vehicle.
The vehicle quickly accelerated, approached the parking lot of Stillwater Milling and came to a stop.  The driver exited the vehicle, beginning the foot pursuit.
Cooper made several commands to stop before releasing Sandy, his K9 partner.
The male suspect was identified as 40-year-old Jamie Hinkle.
According to the Rogers County Sheriff’s report, the suspect looked back and continued to run while digging in his pockets.
K9 Sandy made the apprehension as the suspect began swinging violently causing K9 Sandy to yelp.  Sandy never let up until Cooper put the suspect in restraints.
Claremore Fire Department and Pafford EMS were on scene and transported the suspect to Hillcrest of Claremore for dog bites.  He was later released from the hospital and booked in the Rogers County Jail.
Cooper was treated and released from Hillcrest for dehydration according to the report.
Deputies searched Hinkle’s car and found a knife with metal spikes along with syringes underneath the driver’s floor mat.
The passenger of the vehicle completed a Voluntary Statement and was released.
Suspect was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, eluding police officer, obstructing and resisting officer and unlawful possession of paraphernalia.
