Formal charges were filed Thursday in Rogers County against two Claremore residents in connection with running dogfights and animal cruelty.
Garrett Bump, 19, and Casylin Morgan, 20, have each been charged with instigating or encouraging a dogfight, keeping or training a dog for fighting, cruelty to animals, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia (a misdemeanor), and leaving a carcass within 1/4 mile of a highway (also, a misdemeanor).
In July, Rogers County deputies arrested Bump and Morgan after finding graphic videos of dogfights while serving a warrant for drugs.
According to Rogers County Sheriff’s Deputy records, videos confiscated showed “dogs biting each other on the ears and throat until one dog was dead or declared a winner.”
Two dogs and two puppies were confiscated from the home.
Deputies also discovered the shallow grave of a dog named “Tank,” which was the same dog Bump had purportedly bragged on video about owning, records indicate.
The pair remain in Rogers County Jail. Bond is set at $34,115 on Bump and $34,095 on Morgan.
