Cattle killing in Rogers County

CLAREMORE — A cow killing was reported over the weekend in the Red Bud Valley area of Rogers County.

Rogers County Deputy Jerrry Smittle said the intruder backed into the fenced-in property, took care of his business and drove off.
Investigator Joe Garber and the Northeast Cattle Association of Texas are currently investigating the incident.
“The Northeast Cattle Association has done a good job of coming up here and helping out with these cases,” said Smittle.
The association helped with investigations last month involving two missing cows from a Chelsea area property.  The Chelsea cattle were either stolen or butchered according to Sheriff reports.
It is unclear at this time if the missing cattle and last weekends killing are related.
If anyone has information on either of these crimes call the Rogers County Sheriff’s tip hotline at (918) 341-3620.
