Felony charges have been filed against an Owasso teen arrested following his alleged armed robbery of a convenience store in western Rogers County.
Jeremiah Ryan Berbee, 18, was charged Friday in Rogers County court with one count of robbery by force or fear (a felony) in connection with the armed robbery of a Kum and Go at 14505 E. 86th Street North in Owasso earlier this month.
During the early morning hours of July 12, a Kum & Go clerk reported that a man had “brandished a pistol and demanded money” before fleeing, according to Owasso police reports
Police officers viewed surveillance video to gain a more detailed description of the suspect, according to reports. The clerk was able to provide a description of the vehicle used by the suspect, which led investigators to the Greens at Owasso apartments, where they enlisted the help of that facility’s management and surveillance video to find the suspect’s general direction.
A K-9 officer picked up the trail of Berbee, who was found inside an apartment. Upon questioning, he confessed to the crime, reports indicate.
Berbee was then arrested without incident and taken to the Owasso city jail before he was transferred to the Rogers County Jail, where he was booked on complaints of robbery by force or fear, pointing a firearm and assault while masked.
Berbee has remained in jail since the time of his arrest. Bond has been set at $75,000.
