Relatives appear for preliminary hearing on child sexual abuse charges

CLAREMORE —

Rogers County residents Braeden Hendershott, 19, and Jessica Cleveland, 30, appeared in court Wednesday morning for a preliminary hearing regarding charges of underage sexual abuse.
Both were arrested in November after a 14-year-old girl reported to Owasso Police that Cleveland, Hendershott’s aunt, drove the girl and two others to his Owasso apartment to have sex with Hendershott.
This occurred several times where Cleveland also provided alcohol to the minors. According to the affidavit, Cleveland purchased morning after pills for the girl to take more than once.
Hendershott faces six felony counts including second degree rape, forcible sodomy, lewd or indecent acts to underage child and furnishing alcoholic beverages to person under 21. Cleveland was charged with three counts including enabling child sexual abuse and furnishing alcoholic beverages.
