GROW HOUSE: Claremore man arrested following tip

CLAREMORE —

The Rogers County Sheriff’s Office arrested Charles Lee Striplin, 64, of Claremore for cultivation of a controlled substance after receiving a tip on an inside marijuana grow operation within the Claremore city limits.
Striplin was charged with possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of paraphernalia and use of firearm while committing a felony.
Striplin’s 4-year-old grandson was at the residence at the time of the search and stays there during the day, resulting in the addition a child endangerment charge. 
Deputy Quint Tucker obtained a search warrant and made contact with the suspect at approximately 5 p.m. Monday.
Several canisters of marijuana buds weighing approximately six pounds were found in the residence. Deputies also found a closet that had been converted into a grow room containing four plants, grow lights and a ventilation system. In addition to the drug seizure, deputies found eight firearms inside the residence.
Approximately $10,000 in marijuana was seized during the bust, according to Rogers County Sheriff Scott Walton.
