Deputies uncover dog fighting videos while serving search warrant

CLAREMORE — Deputies from the Rogers County Thug Task Force obtained graphic dog fighting videos along with marijuana and paraphernalia while serving a search warrant Tuesday afternoon at a Claremore residence.

Deputies arrested property contacts Garret Bump, 19, and Casylin Morgan, 20, who were determined to be participating in the fights.

Videos showed the dogs biting each other on the ears and throat until one dog was dead or declared a winner, said Lt. Deputy Jerry Smittle. One dog named “Tank” was shown in a bath tub bleeding after a fight. Deputies later discovered the dog had been buried in the back yard.

Deputies found two puppies in a small crate inside the residence along with a white pitbull. The dog had severe lacerations and bite marks on the head and neck areas, said Smittle.

He said there was also a female in the back of the residence that was apparently only used for breeding because of her size.

Claremore Animal Control was called and took the dogs from the property, including “Tank.”

Bump has been charged with 11 counts, including cruelty to animals, instigating or encouraging dogfights, leaving carcass within 14 miles of highway, use of firearm while committing a felony and possession of dangerous dogs. Morgan is facing 10 counts for similar charges.

Both are currently in custody. Bonds have been set at $34,000 each.
