Council awards bid for sanitary sewer project

CLAREMORE —

A swearing-in ceremony was held Tuesday night for Will DeMier, newly-appointed Ward IV councilor, and Brian Callender, newly-elected Ward II councilor at the Claremore City Council meeting.
The panel awarded a bid to T-G Excavating, Inc., for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) sanitary sewer rehabilitation project.
The project area is along Chambers Street and provides “replacing older, weak and clay tile sanitary sewer lines using pipe-bursting method and rehabilitation of manholes,” said City Planner Jill Ferenc.
The bid opening was held Dec. 12 with four bidders.
T-G Excavating was the low-bidder with a base bid and add-alternates totaling $253,058.98.
“The amount budgeted for the (project) is $135,366 with matching funds from the Oklahoma Department of Commerce for $135,366, for a total of $270,732,” Ferenc said.
The project is expected to take 120 days to complete.
