CVS Pharmacy one step closer

CLAREMORE —

The Claremore City Council approved a measure Monday vacating the alley behind the Mason Center for construction of a CVS Pharmacy.
A new CVS store is proposed on the northwest corner of Will Rogers Blvd and Lynn Riggs.
The plan includes demolition of the Mason Center. However, the businesses currently located in the center will be relocating to other locations in Claremore.
There is an alley currently located behind the building and CVS will own both sides of the alley, prompting the request.
The project developer also plans to relocate additional utilities on the property, according to City Engineer Chris Cochran.
The developer is ready to begin the project and city officials requested the action to allow construction on the site. CVS or city officials have not released the anticipated completion date of the project.
CVS pharmacy, the retail division of CVS Caremark, is a retail pharmacy with 7,500 CVS/pharmacy and Longs Drug stores nationwide, according to www.cvscaremark.com.
