Rogers County gears up for move

CLAREMORE — Rogers County Courthouse employees have been working double-time packing, cleaning and shredding old document in preparation for the move into their new building.

Moving dates have not been set,  including a two-week schedule, pending any final construction issues.
The move will take place in two phases, beginning April 15 and ending April 26.
During phase one the district attorney, courts, court clerk, drug court, bogus checks/community service, treasurer and protective orders will be moving.
The next week the second phase will move.
The county clerk, sheriff, human resources, maintenance, planning commission, OSU extension office, commissioners, assessor and emergency management will be moving.
While moving the public is asked to use the overflow courthouse parking located behind the Rogers County Election Board.
During the first phase the public entrance to the building will be moved to the southeast entrance.
Individuals that are not able to use the stairs will need to call (918) 341-3535 for assistance.
County barn workers will be moving the county offices during the hours of 7 a.m to 4 p.m.
Each office will be closed the day of their move.
More information about the specific dates of each office’s move will be provided closer to the move.
Road projects will be put on hold for the two weeks of the move, according to commissioner Mike Helm.
A committee including Human Resource Director Jenny Bentley and Administrative Assistant Christine Day has organized the move.
For more information contact Christine Day at (918) 341-0585 or Jenny Bentley at (918) 341-4650.
The commissioners issued a special thank you Monday to Lowes of Claremore for generously donating moving boxes to the courthouse.
