Commissioners meet to discuss historical items

CLAREMORE —

Rogers County Commissioners will meet Monday to discuss several items regarding memorial markers and other historical artifacts.
The board will discuss the creations of the “Art and Historical Artifact Oversight Committee.”
The committee will report directly to the county commissioners.
The board will discuss possible action to ensure the “Eternal Flame” and other memorial markers are moved and incorporation in the new courthouse landscape design. Additionally, the board will review a proposal to place a bronze plaque in the entry of the new building thanking the citizens for voting to approve construction on the new building and listing the names of the members that served on the courthouse committee.
In other business the board will discuss procedures for changes to the inside of the building, a change in management for 911 addressing and open bids for new radios for the Rogers County Sheriff’s Office. BKL Inc. and Flintco will be providing an update on the construction of the 911 Center. The slab for the new building was recently poured and planning continues for the renovation of the Rogers County Jail.
The board will be awarding a bid for Next Generation 911 System Integration and cloud-based call handling. The commissioner’s meeting is open to the public and public comments or responses to agenda items only may be made at the end of the meeting.
