Woods resigns, joining NTC PR

CLAREMORE — Cassie Woods, communication director for the City of Claremore resigned Tuesday,  and her last day of employment will be April 5.

Woods is leaving the city to pursue the position of Public Relations Coordinator with Northeast Technology Center.
The city is still working on future plans for staffing and it has not been decided if Woods will be replaced, according to City Manager Jim Thomas.
“I need to look at it, the determination has not been made,” Thomas said.
Currently, Thomas is working with city staff to move forward with plans to hire a Director of Development Services.
Thomas said he will be providing more information Monday at the city council meeting. The position will serve in both an economic development and assistant city manager capacity. City officials are expected to launch the nationwide search in the next few weeks.
“I am looking for the right person and the process will work in the same way as when I was hired,” Thomas said.
