Stokes selected as Emergency Management Director

CLAREMORE — The Rogers County Commissioners have selected Tulsa Fire Department Captain Scott Stokes this week to serve as the new Rogers County Emergency Management Director.

Stokes accepted the offer for employment, however before it can be finalized a background check must be completed, according to Commissioner Kirt Thacker.
The commissioners offered the position to a different candidate last week, but he declined.
That prompted the board to continue the job search and additional interviews were conducted on Tuesday.
Human Resource Director Jenny Bentley will be conducting the necessary background check and finalizing the paperwork.
The board will meet Monday in executive session to discuss Stokes employment.
Oologah Talala Emergency Medical Services Director Kelly Deal has been serving as the interim Emergency Management Director for Rogers County for the past few weeks.
Deal was asked to fill in after the board terminated Bob Anderson.
Anderson served the county for more than 16 years in that position.
The change over in the department also prompted the commissioners to request an audit of Emergency Management inventory.
The State Auditor and Inspector’s office is currently conducting that audit.
