The Claremore City Council continues its search for a new city manager, after meeting in executive session Monday evening to discuss potential candidates.
The candidates were narrowed to four and the council approved a request to hold interviews with those candidates on Oct. 23-24.
“We are pleased of the quality of education and experience background of these candidates,” said Mayor Mickey Perry. The council had 56 applicants for the position. A review committee has worked with human resources to narrow the search. Twenty of the applicants did not meet the basic requirements, Perry said. The first round of interviews will be held in executive session to protect the confidentiality of the applicants due to their current positions, according to Perry.
“We are excited about the possibilities and we want to move forward as quickly as possible while making sure this person will be good fit for Claremore,” said Perry.
