Growth and Change: County commissioners focus on development

(Continued)

CLAREMORE —

In other business, the commissioners approved the creation of the new Fair Oaks Fire Protection District. The new fire district was created as a result of a vote during the November General Election.
Commissioner Mike Helm is continuing negotiations with BP to gain an easement on 193rd E. Ave.
“The negotiations are the result of a home flooding,” Helm said.
Once the easement is finalized then the county can begin a drainage project, according to Helm. The contract will prevent the need for condemnation litigation, according to Engineer Consultant Brian Kellogg.
Curtis was selected to represent the county on the INCOG Board of Directors and General Assembly.
