Trease to lead Red Cross board

CLAREMORE — Peggy Trease is the new Board Chair for the Rogers/Mayes/Wagoner County Service Center of the American Red Cross.  

The local service center board is comprised of individuals who represent their communities in Rogers, Mayes and Wagoner County. This group works together in a collaborative effort to ensure that the American Red Cross is effective as possible in meeting the needs of the citizens. They also provide direction in anticipating and meeting the future needs of the service area.

“I am honored to serve as this year’s chair for the Rogers, Mayes and Wagoner County American Red Cross Board,” Trease said. “Our chapter has been extremely busy this year with several natural disasters and numerous house fires and to know that I serve a small part in helping our neighbors in need makes me very proud.”

Peggy and her husband Brent live in Claremore and have three grown children, Lindsey Jones and her husband Austin of Kemp, Texas; Adam Trease and his wife Delayna of Owasso; and Jared Trease of Claremore. She is the Director of Marketing for Claremore Regional Hospital in Claremore and also serves on the Rogers County United Way Board of Directors.

“We have always been fortunate to have a great group of community and business leaders on our board, and this year’s board is no exception,” said Mark Ogle, service center director. “With Peggy’s leadership as chair and the help and insight of the board members, I know that the American Red Cross will continue to be able to achieve its mission to  help the citizens of Rogers, Mayes and Wagoner County to prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.”

The Rogers/Mayes County Service Center was expanded in 2005 to better serve the citizens of Rogers and Mayes County. On July 1,  2008,  Wagoner County joined the counties the service center serves.  The service center office is located at 400 W. Will Rogers Boulevard in Claremore. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
