Monday, the Board of County Commissioners held a hearing for public input on newly revised regulations that will affect builders and developers in Rogers County. Those changes include 30-foot fronts on county roads. Developer and local landowner Mike Hudgens of Oologah said small developers will be affected adversely by these changes and eliminate the competitive element in the county. Commissioners said their recommended changes will go back to the Planning Commission for review and all changes will be made public for at least a 30-day publication period before being adopted. The regulations have not been updated since the 1970s or 80s according to Planning Commissioner Director Magan Green. Read the complete story in an upcoming issue of the Progress. Chelsea man suspect in rape of 7-year-old A Chelsea man was arrested and booked into jail last week on charges of breaking into the home of a 7-year-old and raping her. Arturo Ramirez, 24, was arrested by Chelsea police just after midnight May 7 and booked into the Rogers County Jail on charges of lewd or indecent proposals or acts to child and first-degree rape, both felonies, and resisting an officer and breaking and entering, both misdemeanors.
