SUNDAY Nov. 11
16th Annual Oakhaven Memorial Gardens Veterans Day ceremony, 2 p.m. Public is invited. Veterans will be honored; they are encouraged to wear their uniforms, ribbons, medals, etc.
First United Methodist Church Veterans Day recognition and luncheon. Veterans will be recognized during each of the services at 8:30 a.m., 9:45 a.m. and 11 a.m. Luncheon will follow at noon. FUMC is located at 1615 N. Highway 88 in Claremore.
St. Andrews United Methodist Church to honor veterans at a special service. Morning services begin at 9 a.m. Veterans encouraged to attend.
Rogers County Cherokee Association final meeting of the year. All Cherokees are welcome to for the Thanksgiving dinner at 2 p.m. at the RCCA Building, east of Justus-Tiawah south campus on East 523 Road. RCCA will provide the meat. Bring your favorite dish. The next scheduled meeting will be the second Sunday in January.
MONDAY Nov. 12
Will Rogers Library closed for Veterans Day holiday.
Pelivan Transit closed for Veterans Day. Business will resume on Tuesday.
Claremore Hospital Auxiliary Gift Shop Christmas Open House, 12-8 p.m. “Wonders of Christmas” to be on display, with hot apple cider to be served. Regular gift shop hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Proceeds from sales go back into community and support the hospital.
DAR (Daughters of American Revolution) meeting, 10 a.m., St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1310 N. Sioux. Gail Johnson, retired Navy, will give the program on Oklahoma Veterans and patriotism. Reservations: Loretta Genn, (918) 341-7099.
CHS Band Spring trip meeting for parents and students, 6:30 p.m., in the band room at the Robson PAC. Immediately following will be a band booster meeting. Fundraising and concert info, basketball plans, and more.
Foyil United Methodist Church Thanksgiving Dinner, 11 a.m. Cost is $7 for turkey and dressing, meatloaf, all the trimmings and homemade pie. There will also be a bake sale.

Claremore Public Schools Title 7 Native American Meeting for parents or guardians of Native American students, 4 p.m., Claremore High School room 101. Information: Cindy Sullivan, (918) 923-4289.
“A Night of Comedy” presented by Alpha Sigma Tau, 7:07 p.m., Will Rogers Auditorium, Rogers State University. Local comedians Bronson Vaughn, Steven Baucom, Randall Lopez, and Steven King to perform. Cost $3 single or $5 per couple. Doors open at 6:45 p.m.

CHS Band Spectacular Concert, 7 p.m., Robson PAC. Featuring the pep music of football and basketball. Special guests include the CHS Dance Team and others. Free admission.
FRIDAY Nov. 16
First Christian Church Annual Bazaar, Bake Sale and Taco Soup Lunch, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. (dinner served 11-1), Family Life Center, 5th and Florence. Cost is $7 for taco soup, corn muffins, salad, dessert and beverage. Take-out available. Call (918) 607-0473.
