SECTION 00 11 16 INVITATION TO BID
NOTICE TO BIDDERS
Sealed proposals will be received by the Inola Public Schools, hereinafter referred to as “OWNER”, at the Administration Office 110 North Broadway, Inola, Oklahoma until 2:00 PM, TUESDAY, July 22, 2014, at which time bids will be publicly opened and thereafter contract let to the lowest acceptable bidder for NEW CLASSROOM BUILDING AND ADDITION located 810 East Commercial Street, Inola, Oklahoma. Reference is made to the site plan for exact location of the building.
Plans and specifications for the above project may be reserved prior to picking up sets by calling Graber and Associates, PC, 2415 East Skelly Drive, Suite 101, Tulsa, Oklahoma, phone (918) 747-8028, Extension 10. A deposit of $50.00 for one (1) set will be required at the time documents are obtained. Deposit will be returned to unsuccessful bidders provided sets are returned in good condition and within ten (10) working days from bid date. Sets will be mailed only after a postage and handling fee of $10.00 for one (1) set or $15.00 for two (2) sets has been received by the Architect or the contractors FedEX account could be charged. All Contractors shall have a current AIA Document 305, “Contractor’s Qualification Statement” or their own company resume and references on file at the Architect’s office or submitted with the Bid Form at the Bid Opening.
Attention is called to the fact that the “Bid Form” designates a time for completion and that the successful bidder will be required to pay the sum of $400.00 per calendar day (Sundays and Holidays included), liquidated damages for each days delay beyond the designated completion date as written on the “Bid Form”.
Each bid shall be accompanied by a bond or certified check payable to the order of Owner, or other security approved by Owner, in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid. This security is given as a guarantee that the bidder to whom the contract is awarded, will enter into a contract with the Owner for the construction of the project, furnish satisfactory statutory and performance bonds, maintenance bonds, and insurance certificate within ten (10) working days after notice of award (unless a longer time is given by Owner in writing), and in the event of failure to do so, there shall be paid to the Owner the sum of five percent (5%) of said bid as liquidated damages. No bidder may withdraw his bid for a period of forty-five (45) days after opening date.
NO BID WILL BE CONSIDERED UNLESS IT IS SUBMITTED UPON THE FORM OF PROPOSAL PREPARED BY OWNER. THESE FORMS ARE BOUND IN THIS BOOK.
Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities or minor irregularities in any bid. The Owner also reserves the right to not accept the lowest bid.
